Explore 29 Latest Game Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Featuring a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-eating heroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's company, Wizards of the Coast, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive panel hosted at New York Comic Con. Is this a radical addition or yet another crossover marketing move? Let you be the judge.

Check out below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key background. Everything listed below launches on March 6, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Reveals

Before we get into the many special decks and collections available, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Play boosters for the expansion are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters should run $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking details. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu, in which players can play powerful creatures onto the game field when an attacker goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also used this chance to refine the mechanic a bit (Sneak is treated as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). The original ability is staying, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu because that plane is it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “But in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with special art created specifically for the expansion by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, so was I. Yet as per Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, all these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. Developers state they took care to ensure the new cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the development for over a year and we knew it would be in standard and which sets would be alongside it in standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype built around artifacts.

“They combine to offer the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six different legendary creatures that can serve as your Commander based on how you pair them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command area rather than just one). Take a look below:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Sources indicated that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which means an additional 37 Turtle-themed cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprints if we estimate the precon comes with 37 lands.)

How will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, Wizards is selling a bundle. It costs $69.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 15 Foil basic lands
  • 15 Regular basic lands
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • 1 storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it comes in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza lands
  • Five Foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Oversized spindown life counter
  • One storage box

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” is, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. Wizards revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos in total.

The Pizza Bundle releases a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • Twelve Play Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the prize for winning)

  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products aimed at new players. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that let you and a friend team up to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The concept here that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays one other card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
